If you have found a way of eating that makes you feel great, that’s wonderful. Keep it up.

If you are confused about what is best for you then I am here to help. This is where my background in science takes the lead because the truth is there is no one-size-fits-all approach to eating. We all have unique nutrition requirements at different stages of our lives. And, if your goals include weight loss, then all the more reason for us to work together given the number of, well, really, very unhealthy “diets” being promoted these days.

Raw food makes some people feel fantastic and gives others a belly ache. Pulses and grains make some of us feel light and soothed, while others will be bloating up like balloons. For bespoke nutrition, work with me.

To give you a sense of how much your food and drink intake affects you every day, why not keep a food diary for a few weeks and monitor the symptoms and energy levels in response to what you eat and any changes you make. This will be one of your tasks when we start to work together, but there is nothing preventing you from doing this now as an experiment…

I won’t give you a miserable list of “don’ts” – although there must be a few, I’m afraid, if you want to develop consistent energy and wellness). My approach is to make food exciting, delicious and nutritious – making small changes that stick long-term is the most effective way.

Based on my experiences, I’ve learned to recommend one change per month. However, if having organic, gluten-free muesli with almond milk instead of your usual toast with jam and coffee is making you neurotic and miserable, then don’t do it! Try something else! You’ve heard it before, but these little changes do add up – let’s work together to make the changes that improve your life.

One more thought on nutrition: the most important thing when you work with me is that you feel happy and inspired. Life is short and to be cherished. Be gentle with yourself as you start to discover what foods and drink work best for you – you will see more lasting changes that way.
